After 11 years of successful track record of running annual Photo Contest, the recent highlight was the extension of "KOLGA AWARD" into "KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO". From 2012, within the framework of "KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO" week, along with Kolga Award exhibition, the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi has hosted various international and local exhibitions featuring both historically significant images and photographic works depicting various positions in contemporary photography. For “KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO 2013” visitors will have a chance to get familiar with the works of the world-renowned photographic artists and view the following photo exhibitions: “Life’s Works” by Benedict J. Fernandes (the USA), “In the Quiet country” by Jon Cazenaved (Spain), “Brooklyn Stories – Uncle Charlie” by Mark Ashin (the USA), “We stake Hardcore” by Vincent Cianni (the USA), “the fighting Season” by Louie Palu (the USA), “It will pass” by Wolf Bowig (Germany), and “Ulls Aturats” by Manel Esclusa (Spain). "KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO 2013" is honored to host exposition “China Stories” by 30 international photographers. Within the framework of "KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO" will be presented the selected works by one of the Georgian photographers, who will become the winner of this year’s traditional Alexander Roinashvili Prize for a special contribution to the development of Georgian photography.
Under the framework of "KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO 2013", in cooperation with Galerie Lichtblick and the support of the British Council and Ministry of Culture, Georgia "KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO" will offer workshops, seminars, discussions and portfolio reviews to underline our philosophy to support the further promotion of art of photography as one of the new media forms among Georgians and to advance them in their development. The following photo experts, curators, tutors from all over the world will deliver workshops, lectures and portfolio reviews: Wolfgang Zurborn (Cologne), Mimi Mollica (London), Marc Asnin (New York), Vince Cianni (New York), Louie Palu (Washington) Kurt Tong (Hongkong).
